Below are some examples of such arrangements:
- roll-in shower
- automatic door opener
- strobe light fire alarm
- visual doorbell
- additional space for medical equipment
- you are bringing a service animal

All residents are eligible for free wired In-Room Ethernet Connections. In order to connect to the network, your computer will need a network card - also called a Network Interface Card (NIC), an Ethernet card, or an Ethernet adapter. You will also need to bring your own Ethernet cable (often referred to as a category 5 cable) with an RJ45 connector (approximately 25 ft.).
All computers connected to the campus network MUST meet campus minimum security standards which require:
- updated antivirus software
- automatic software patching (e.g. Windows Update)

Computers that do not meet these requirements may have their network connections disabled. For detailed information about the requirements and how to meet them, please visit ResComp's BeSecure website at: http://www.rescomp.berkeley.edu/besecure/what/
Residential Computing supports Ethernet connections for computers running Windows XP/Vista and Macintosh OS 10.4 or higher. Windows 95/98/Me and Mac OS 10.3 and below are not allowed on the network as they do not meet campus minimum security standards.
