There is limited street parking around the Berkeley Campus, however, parking is available in University parking lots and public transportation is quite efficient. The City of Berkeley requires a permit to park on city streets. Vehicles without permits are subject to two-hour parking restrictions between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm from Monday through Saturday. Shuttle service is available from the Oakland International Airport and the San Francisco International Airport. Most shuttles offer door-to-door service to the residence halls, upon request. Reservations are required. For information, costs, and reservations, call:
Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is available from the Oakland International Airport and the San Francisco International Airport to the Downtown Berkeley BART station. For the Oakland International Airport take the "Air-BART" shuttle from the terminal to the Coliseum BART station. From the Coliseum BART station take the Richmond bound BART train to the Downtown Berkeley Station on Shattuck Avenue. From the San Francisco International Airport take BART to either the Oakland City Center/12 Street Station or the MacArthur Station. Transfer to the Richmond bound train. Take the Richmond bound train to the Downtown Berkeley Station on Shattuck Avenue. Fares are posted in the stations. From Shattuck Avenue take the #51 southbound AC Transit bus to the Unit 2 Residence Halls (College Avenue and Haste Street).
